MISS GREEK - WINNER - SFA's SERVICE PROJECT OF THE YEAR 2009!!!
Miss Greek SFA 2009 - Katie Green - Alpha Chi Omega
Miss Greek SFA 2008 - Sidney Rutherford - Delta Delta Delta
The Miss Greek SFA pageant was initiated by the brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon in the fall of 2007 in memory of fraternity brother Nik Gallegos. His passing away in 2007 due to alcohol consumption, motivated the brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon to make this tragic event the start of a conscious effort to help individuals who are not aware of the dangers of the consumption of alcohol to be more informed.
Miss Greek SFA has become one of the most anticipated events on campus for all those who are in Greek organizations, and for those who want to watch a very entertaining night of talented sorority women raise money for Mothers Against Drunk Driving. In only it's second year, Miss Greek raised nearly 1400 dollars for MADD. Now in it's third year, the fraternity expects over 600 people to be in attendance, and to raise well over 2000 dollars for MADD.

The Miss Greek SFA pageant involves two contestants from each participating sorority. The contestants are judged on four categories: casual walk, formal dress, a talent portion, and a question and answer round (which will consist of alcohol abuse questions). The audience is also given a ticket as soon as they enter the ballroom, and once the pageant is over, the audience members use that ticket to vote for the contestant they want to win.
Each year, a MADD representative was able to help judge, and was on hand to recieve their check.
The men of the Nu Xi chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon and Mothers Against Drunk Driving would like to take the time to give heartfelt thanks to each individual sorority member, both past and present, as well as the numerous other people and sponsors who have contributed to the success of the Miss Greek pageant. Without your help, this event would not be possible.
